The {mcpdesc} Community is made up of individuals who advocate for the benefits of a portable format to describe MCP servers, build tools that support the format, and evolve the specification.
How the project is organized
The {mcpdesc} project uses a lightweight, consensus-oriented governance model with two distinct roles. Check the project governance documentation for more details.
Contributors
Contributors advance the project by proposing, discussing, or submitting improvements — code, docs, specification feedback, examples, articles. Contributions are accepted for — code under Apache-2.0, and — documentation and editorial content under CC BY 4.0.
Maintainers
Maintainers guide the roadmap, maintain the MCP Description specification, publish releases, curate the tools catalog, review and merging contributions.

Initiator & maintainer
Stève Sfartz is a Principal Architect at Cisco and the initiator of the {mcpdesc} project. He created the initial MCP Description format, and the MCP Toolkit open-sourced at cisco-open.
